Stylish Ideas for Nailing the Office Look with Knitwear

You know what they say: dress for the job you want, not the one you have. But whenever winter comes around, on super chilly mornings the only job that I really want is bartending on a sunny beach in Aruba. Unfortunately, my job has got me stuck in an office building in Melbourne where the heating seems to be forever stuck at 10 degrees. You can’t always get what you wish for, can you?

So, I found that on windy and cool days, wearing my cute pieces of corporate knitwear is what I need to stay warm and happy. But besides being my saviour on mornings when I don’t feel like even brushing my hair and being a quick solution whenever a tropical cyclone hits, having a couple of good sweaters can really transform your office wardrobe as they look nice and go well with almost everything. I’m a modern gal who follows the trends and knows swhich pieces go best combined, so trust me on this one.
Corporate Knitwear
What I like most about corporate knitwear is that it has the power to make you look sophisticated without feeling as if you spent too much time dressing up. And since dressing like a typical business woman in a pantsuit is not something that complements my easy-going personality, I found that knitwear can soften the harsh look of formal skirts and pants. Actually, my all-time favourite work outfit is a combo of a black pencil skirt and a simple knit in a neutral colour.

When you need a bit more formal outfit, you can pair a cardigan with a simple monochromatic shirt. For me, the winning combination for super important business meetings is a black cardigan with a crisp, white formal shirt. If you’re in the mood for playful accessories, you can spice up this prim and proper combination with a light, simple scarf or a cute necklace.

Of course, if you’re a busty girl you might struggle with cardigans and other button-up knitwear. In that case, you’ll find that V-neck sweaters have the perfect shape for you and can look extremely flattering. V-neck sweaters with a formal design and free of any additional details go really good with classic work clothing pieces like pencil skirts, A shaped skirts, and tailored pants. One, or a combination of several necklaces, can give this look a more feminine touch. Wearing a pair of nice high heals with V-neck sweaters is a sure way to make you look comfy and sexy at the same time. Now follow my advice and make good use of all the chunky sweaters that you have once the temperatures drop low to lift your mood.
