Due to the very high competitiveness in the industry, the products that are manufactured daily need to be of high and consistent quality and with a very competitive price in order to survive on the market. To reach that goal, many industries are turning to automated devices so they can integrate a number of new product designs and manufacturing techniques. One of those influential moves is the use of industrial automation.
Industrial automation, or widely known as industrial automation and control products, has the main goal to increase product quality reliability and rate of production extremely easy, while at the same time reducing the cost of production and design. In its main form and definition, industrial automation, or industrial control systems, is a term used for several types of control systems that are mainly used in industrial production and industries like electrics, gas, water, oil and data.
Explained in the simplest way, industrial automation and control products are products with two functions: automated, which means there’s the use of computers and machines that replace human thinking and give the meaning ‘self-dictating’ to a product; and industrial, which means they’re mainly used for industrial purposes in various industrial applications. To sum up the definition, an industrial automation system is a set of technologies and automatic control devices whose main purpose is the control and operation of industrial processes without human intervention.
Besides increasing the quality of the entire manufacturing process, the use of automation systems offers a plant a lot more benefits.
In conclusion, we really can’t imagine the life we lead today without the vast palette of automation and control products. The cars, air-condition systems, alarms and similar devices we use daily, wouldn’t have existed if there wasn’t such development in the automation industry. Or at least, they would have been so expensive that only a few of us would have had the privilege of owning them.
